The result of the discussion was: speedy keep. WP:SKCRIT#1—absence of delete rationale relevant to deleting a draft. Failure to demonstrate that the topic meets notability guidelines is not considered sufficient reason to delete a draft (WP:NMFD). (non-admin closure) —Alalch E. 00:10, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
- Draft:Betsy Arakawa (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
Betsy Arakawa doesn't meet the notability criteria. According to WP:INVALIDBIO, her marriage to Gene Hackman is not a reason for a standalone article. Any information about Ms. Arakawa will pertain to her death, which is still under investigation. PrinceArchelaus (talk) 23:02, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
- This is a draft which I created to allow for source material to be gathered. I have not deeply searched for sources yet, but there may be enough coverage over the last 30 years for her to meet GNG. Thriley (talk) 23:30, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
- Keep - The nominator has made a good case that this draft should be deleted from article space, but this draft isn't in article space. See Drafts are not checked for notability. As the originator says, a draft can be kept in draft space to look for sources. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:00, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
- Having a New York Times article about your death is pretty notable. People can become notable because they were connected to someone incredibly notable, (and Wikipedia should stop pretending it's not real). Hence why Wikipedia has articles on John Lennon's mom and dad, not to mention other countless individuals whose only real accomplishment is playing a big part in the life of someone who scholars and society spends a lot of time thinking and writing about.★Trekker (talk) 00:04, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
