Category:Roman Catholic bishops of Queenstown

Category:Bishops in the Roman Catholic Ecclesiastical Province of Cape Town

Nominator's rationale: Not useful for navigation. Only 1 article. WP:NARROWAidan721 (talk) 21:24, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Roman Catholic archbishops of Bloemfontein

Nominator's rationale: Not useful for navigation. Only 1-3 articles each. Merge/delete per WP:NARROWAidan721 (talk) 21:08, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Deans of Stanford University School of Medicine

Nominator's rationale: Newly created small category with limited growth potential. Looking at Category:American university and college faculty deans, only Category:Georgetown University deans is comparable, and that contains 7 subcategories. Merge to Category:American university and college faculty deans and Category:Stanford University School of Medicine faculty. Gjs238 (talk) 19:36, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Roman Catholic bishops in Seychelles

Nominator's rationale: There are only 3 unique articles in this tree. WP:NARROW. –Aidan721 (talk) 18:49, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Roman Catholic bishops in Equatorial Guinea

Nominator's rationale: Redundant category layer with only one article. WP:NARROW. –Aidan721 (talk) 18:36, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Events by topic

Nominator's rationale: delete, these are events in the very vague meaning of "anything that happened in the field of". The subcategories are in fact entirely unrelated, except partially as a case of WP:SHAREDNAME. Marcocapelle (talk) 17:49, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is follow-up on this earlier discussion. Marcocapelle (talk) 17:53, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Roman Catholic bishops in Namibia

Nominator's rationale: There are only 4 unique articles in this tree. WP:NARROW. It is not useful to diffuse Roman Catholic bishops in Namibia. –Aidan721 (talk) 17:45, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Canons of Sandomierz

Nominator's rationale: Redundant category layers. WP:NARROW. –Aidan721 (talk) 16:33, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Politicians from Paillaco

Nominator's rationale: Redundant category layers for one article. WP:NARROWAidan721 (talk) 16:03, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Academics from Kapsabet

Nominator's rationale: Redundant category layer for one subcategory. –Aidan721 (talk) 15:58, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Middle Schools in Guangzhou

Nominator's rationale: Middle schools in China redirects to junior secondary schools in China. Senior secondary schools in China are sub-catted by province, and a few cities have sub-cats, but for junior schools there are only 28 articles nationwide and no other sub-cats by location. – Fayenatic London 09:45, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:7th-century Romans

Nominator's rationale: delete, redundant category layer with only one subcategory, and ancient Rome no longer existed. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:40, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Merging to "Byzantine people" doesn't make sense, because the only subcategory consists of Gallo-Romans, who weren't Byzantines. There were still Romans, of course, but ATM none are in the category. If it's deleted now, it can still be re-created if and when there are some other contents. P Aculeius (talk) 13:36, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. Just delete, then. For info, I have added a link for Byzantines as a succeeding category from 7th-century Romans. – Fayenatic London 14:42, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Housing rights activists from Los Angeles

Nominator's rationale: Dual upmerge for now. underpopulated category SMasonGarrison 02:08, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

NFL awards

Nominator's rationale: "Award" is not considered apart of their proper name as these are not limited to a specific publication and should be omitted. This follows a series of recent template and page moves. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 01:56, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Support: proposed rename matches that used by the Pro Football Reference source as well as the AP NFL Most Valuable Player article. – yutsi (talk) 03:39, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:LGBTQ culture in the United States by region

Nominator's rationale: Redundant category layer SMasonGarrison 01:41, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:LGBTQ in the United States by region

Nominator's rationale: contents aren't by region. They're a mix of states, populated places etc. SMasonGarrison 01:40, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:First women presidents in Oceania

Nominator's rationale: Merge for the time being as category is underpopulated. Can be recreated when there are more articles related to this category. Note that article is already in Category:Presidents of the Marshall Islands so no need for a dual merge. Omnis Scientia (talk) 01:22, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Aidan721, I would agree here and thought of it initially. Should I nominate all the categories after this one has closed? Omnis Scientia (talk) 00:03, 21 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would support that –Aidan721 (talk) 02:25, 21 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Fiction set in the 7th millennium or beyond

Nominator's rationale: WP:OCMISC. We should not have a remainder category. We should create categories for individual millenniums, not arbitrary groupings. –Aidan721 (talk) 00:58, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Interactive narrative

Nominator's rationale: This is a weird category that apparently mostly contains chatbots out of all things. Even though I know that's what this category is trying to do, this does not look like a "category for games or books where the plot is determined by the user." at all!
