- ACTRIAL, a research experiment that restricts article creation to autoconfirmed users, will begin on September 7. It will run for six months. You can learn more about the research specifics at meta:Research:Autoconfirmed article creation trial, while Wikipedia talk:Autoconfirmed article creation trial is probably the best venue for general discussion.
- Following an RfC, WP:G13 speedy deletion criterion now applies to any page in the draftspace that has not been edited in six months. There is a bot-generated report, updated daily, to help identify potentially qualifying drafts that have not been submitted through articles for creation.
- You will now get a notification when someone tries to log in to your account and fails. If they try from a device that has logged into your account before, you will be notified after five failed attempts. You can also set in your preferences to get an email when someone logs in to your account from a new device or IP address, which may be encouraged for admins and accounts with sensitive permissions.
- Syntax highlighting is now available as a beta feature (more info). This may assist administrators and template editors when dealing with intricate syntax of high-risk templates and system messages.
- In your notification preferences, you can now block specific users from pinging you. This functionality will soon be available for Special:EmailUser as well.
- Applications for CheckUser and Oversight are being accepted by the Arbitration Committee until September 12. Community discussion of the candidates will begin on September 18.

Ahmed Hegazy/Hegazi
Would value your input on possible page move being discussed at Talk:Ahmed Hegazy and how it may affect the Ahmed Hegazi article. Thanks. --Jameboy (talk) 23:52, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
- @Jameboy: Hi and thank you for your message. I am not a linguistic and both the two variants "hegazy" and "hegazi" are used as a transliteration of the Arabic name ""حجازي". So, I don't have a preference of one of them over the other. --Meno25 (talk) 13:33, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
- No problem, thanks for reply. --Jameboy (talk) 13:53, 6 September 2017 (UTC)

List-class status for various pageant articles
Hello, Meno. I've just reverted several of your recent changes in the assessments of various beauty-pageant articles. Although these articles contains listings of delegates and such, they often include (or can include, if properly written) much non-list detail. And so, I don't see how they can properly be classed as list articles. In any event, there is no reason why your logic wouldn't apply to all of the hundreds of other similar articles and, if you truly believe they should all be re-classified, the better approach will be to start an RfC on the matter. I'll be happy to engage in any further discussion that you would like. NewYorkActuary (talk) 16:55, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
- @NewYorkActuary: Hi. OK, no problem. I was trying to solve the problem of inconsistency of the ratings. Many Miss World articles such as: Miss World 2011 and Miss World 2010 are rated as List-Class (not by me) while others are rated normally as C and Start-Classes. Anyway, I will leave your ratings as is, since you have more experience with beauty pageants than me. It has been a pleasure knowing you. Best wishes. --Meno25 (talk) 18:02, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
