@SireWonton: Autoconfirmed is an implicit right. It is added automatically by the software (MediaWiki) to your account (when it fulfills certain requirements) without human intervention. Confirmed is an explicit right that can be added by admins to any account if needed. (For example, when we want a certain new account to be able to edit semi-protected pages.)
