Anarchism

Hi Boredintheevening,
I saw your work on articles related to anarchism and wanted to say hello, as I work in the topic area too. If you haven't already, you might want to watch our noticeboard for Wikipedia's coverage of anarchism, which is a great place to ask questions, collaborate, discuss style/structure precedent, participate in edit drives, and stay informed about content related to anarchism. Take a look for yourself!
We also have a mailing list if you'd like to be notified of upcoming edit drives.
Feel free to say hi on my talk page and let me know if these links were helpful (or at least interesting). Hope to see you around. czar 11:54, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Czar, nice to hear from you! Thank you for all the work you've put into the topic. I've just added myself into the mailing list and added the noticeboard to my list. About to reply to you about the Reclus page. Happy editing. Boredintheevening (talk) 14:47, 24 December 2024 (UTC)

State Violence
Hi, looks like you're also looking to work on the article for state violence. I initiated the AFD because of the state of it, but just making it a better article sounds like a more workable solution. I just cut out a bunch of the fluff, and think it has to be rebuilt from the ground up, informing the about the term and its application, rather than trying to impress on the reader that (American) State Violence is Bad. I'm thinking first a section on the history of the terms, then various aspects of state violence (surveillance, repression, whatever), broken up by examples of how they function in different countries. Let me know your thoughts.

- Hi! Yes, I think it will definitely benefit from a comprehensive rewrite that's grounded in NPOV and reliable sources summarising key ideas. And I do want to move it away from its geographic focus on the United States. There's definitely been plenty of relevant discussion about the topic by thinkers in philosophy and the social sciences, and I think we'll have more than enough to work from. I'll keep an eye on the page on my watchlist and start addressing it shortly.
- I think, unfortunately, it may have reached its previous state because of the enthusiastic contributions of people less familiar with the kind of content that's appropriate for wiki.
- Thank you for putting in the work to get this going! Boredintheevening (talk) 18:55, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
AWB activity
Hi Bored in the evening,
I noticed last month your edit to Jill S. Grigsby, where you changed "College" to "college" in she was the interim Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College
. I reverted, noting in my summary either the whole title should be capped or lowercased
. You did not communicate further, and then made the same edit today.
Please note that the WP:AWBRULES make you responsible for the edits you make with it, and require that your edits not be controversial (which would include this edit by definition of the fact I reverted it). Any AWB edit you make that gets reverted should cause you to take a pause, understand what happened, and modify your search/replace criteria or level of attention to ensure you do not make the same edit again, either at that page or at another with a similar circumstance.
Thanks for your help with the typo team, and please take care in your editing. Sdkb talk 18:58, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- Apologies, I didn't receive a notification for your prior revert or any communication on my talk page - so I wasn't aware of this being an issue. I'm not sure how this has happened as I have successfully received other notifications recently when I am mentioned in an edit summary. Boredintheevening (talk) 19:19, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
