When you changed from a video to a still image, you should have removed the three video time parameters. Leaving these parameters in caused strange errors in Template:Transclude files as random slideshow/testcases, which did strange things to these parameters resulting from its markup {{Testcase table|_style=width:100%|_showcode=y|Cat|Dog}}
. I removed the three parameters. —Anomalocaris (talk) 04:27, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
Using images
Hi there I'm hoping you have more experience than me with this. I've emailed a few different people about using their photos on Wikipedia with varying results, one person emailed me back asking if they can just give permission and then ignored me when I told them it would need to be under license. What's the quickest and easiest way for people to allow their photo to be used on Wikipedia? I've read the help articles but found conflicting information. Thanks Yeshivish613 (talk) 17:07, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- quickest way is for them to upload itself. its pretty easy via Wikipedia:File upload wizard
- However, convincing them to share or getting permission is difficult. If you are referring to how I got permission from UNRWA, I emailed a bunch of people; one of them was kind enough to connect me to the right person. Astropulse (talk) 02:21, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
Question for administrator
hello,
i uploaded this picture [1] to wiki - now im having second thoughts on this because it shows newborn baby's penis. i know wiki is not censored - but not sure if its inappropriate Astropulse (talk) 17:54, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
- Please help - see above Astropulse (talk) 21:41, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
- It would depend on the context and what you want it used for. If you want to request its deletion as the uploader, you may do that on Commons. Or, you can discuss it on the talk page of the article you wish to illustrate. 331dot (talk) 21:53, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
