Diane Shaffer is an actress and Broadway playwright. She was one of the four members of the New York a cappella quartet, The Steinettes.
Shaffer received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from New York University's School for the Arts,[when?] and served as a member of its Actor's Studio Playwrights/Directors Unit.[Shaffer 1]
Shaffer dedicated her first Broadway effort, 1995's Sacrilege, to Jack Shaffer. The play premiered at the Stamford Center for the Arts, then moved to New York's Belasco Theater. The Broadway version was directed by Don Scardino and starred Ellen Burstyn, Brian Tarantina, Giancarlo Esposito and Herb Foster.[Shaffer 1]
