Variety called it "hardly worth the effort".[1]

The Montreal Star called it "an experiment not completely successful but wonderfully exciting all the same."[2]

The Chicago Reader wrote "all plays have been skilfully shortened and given the proper mood by director Sidney Lumet and are beautifully performed."[3]
