Disappeared?

How long do Khalil's whereabouts need to remain unknown before we can call him "disappeared"? NickCT (talk) 18:03, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Updated: As of March 10, Khalil appears to be in LaSalle Detention Center in the state of Louisiana according to the ICE inmate locator website.

Education, Marriage, DOB and US Arrival

Given the nature of the entry, more detail on his education (when did he graduate in Beirut, when was he accepted to Columbia, when did he begin studies in the US), marriage and date, more precise DOB and his date of arrival in the US are all relevant. kbachler (talk) 02:55, 11 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Per our WP:DOB policy, we can't include a date of birth beyond the year unless it's been widely publicized and is directly relevant to the article beyond idle interest. Chetsford (talk) 03:48, 11 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Be careful, there is another Palestinian actvist Mahmoud Khalil

I already wrote this as a part of the merge discussion at Detention of Mahmoud Khalil, but i am placing it here for good measure:

I would like to warn that, while looking for sources, I found that there is another Mahmoud Khalil who is also a Palestinian activist in the same age range. He seems to live in/be based in Montreal, Canada. Make sure any sources used in this article, particularly to cite his notability, are referring to the correct Mahmoud Khalil.

This is NOT an RS, but here is an example of coverage of the OTHER M Khalil that has pictures (for identification purposes): https://tnc.news/2025/01/18/montreal-anti-israel-repeat-oct-7-attack/ Mason7512 (talk) 00:10, 12 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Shai Davidai

The article used to source Shai Davidai reports him thankingSec of State Marco Rubio for actions regarding Khalil, not as the article says calling on ICE to detain him. https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2025/03/mahmoud-khalil-student-protester-palestine-trump-deportation-columbia-shai-davidai/ 35.33.128.177 (talk) 11:47, 12 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

In April 2024, Khalil appeared on Quds News Network, an Islamic Jihad affiliated media outlet [1], about ongoing negotiations between the Columbia administration and campus protestors regarding divestment from Israel. [2].

Not done: this is the talk page for discussing improvements to the page Mahmoud Khalil (activist). Please make your request at the talk page for the article concerned. This is only a redirect page. Yeshivish613 (talk) 19:25, 26 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 12 March 2025

On March 10, Judge Jesse M. Furman of the Southern District of New York, responding to a petition under the All Writs Act filed by Khalil's attorney, ordered that Khalil "shall not be removed from the United States unless and until the Court orders otherwise", setting a habeas corpus hearing for March 12.[3][4]

Please include in the article today's ruling that Khalil shall remain detained.

Not done Hi MyGosh789! The page Mahmoud Khalil (activist) has been merged into Detention of Mahmoud Khalil. In the present text, it doesn't say explicitly that he still is detained, but it says that he has separately been scheduled for a hearing before a Louisiana immigration judge on March 27. Would you please read the new text, and if you feel a new edit request is in place, would you make that on the Talk page of Detention of Mahmoud Khalil? Friendly, Lova Falk (talk) 11:33, 15 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Read the article yourself before telling me "it doesn't say explicity that he still is detained." It explicity says even in the title that he would "remain detained."MyGosh789 (talk) 17:19, 15 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You misunderstood me. I was talking about the article Detention of Mahmoud Khalil. That was the article in which it doesn't say explicitly that he still is detained. Lova Falk (talk) 17:47, 15 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
