Where is Lion King 2019 and Mufasa
These movies are not live-action. So why thay has removed from highest-grossing animated list? Pieryknik (talk) 17:05, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
The Demon slayer franchise should be top 20.
It should be #19 in the franchise list.
Is Avatar 3 going to get the Lion King (2019) treatment?
James Cameron calls Avatar Fire and Blood live action, as Disney did with Lion King, despite it not having a single pixel that wasn't generated by a computer. So will it go on this list as Lion King did? Somarain (talk) 22:20, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- While Avatar: Fire and Ash may well contain animation—as most CGI-heavy blockbusters do these days—I understand that the bulk of it is live-action. Kate Winslet, for example, has regularly talked about having to hold her breath underwater for several minutes while filming. See this article as well, for further information. Betty Logan (talk) 23:03, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- From where does you understanding come? Kate Winslet didn't hold her breath underwater for Fire and Ash. That was for the Way of Water. That article is from 2019 and doesn't discuss the completed Fire and Ash.
- It's at $761 million now. That's good for top 30 on this list. Either we need to remove Lion King or add Fire and Ash, but we can't apply different standards to different films. Whatever the rule is must be consistent. Somarain (talk) 05:20, 30 December 2025 (UTC)
- We are applying different standards because they were filmed using different techniques. Avatar 2 & 3 were filmed back-to-back—and were literally filmed—as detailed at Avatar:_Fire_and_Ash#Filming. Here is a video showing the filming process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfeDWgEBif8. The Lion King was animated, as detailed at The_Lion_King_(2019_film)#Production.
