World Population - By Country

Good day

When was the last time, that the population of the countries were updated. I guess it must be quite some time ago. I have searched for this information and found a few websites, that reflects these figures. One of the websites was this one: https://worldpopulationreview.com/countries According to this website, the population of India, is 1 463 870 000, while the Wikipedia website, reflects 1 417 492 000. That is a difference of 46 378 000. If it was only a few hundred, it might still be acceptable, but +46 million! That is a huge difference. There are several other countries, of which the population differs in excess of several million between what the above-mentioned website reflects, compared to what Wikipedia's website reflects.

Wikipedia has such a wide range of information, but it seems like a lot of this, is unreliable.I would like to see, that whatever information is displayed on Wikipedia, is much more reliable/accurate, than what seems to be the case at this moment. BIAREN (talk) 14:40, 31 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

List of countries

The Northern part of Cyprus is under Turkish occupation since the Turkish invasion in 1974. It has proclaimed itself independent against international law. It is only recognized by Turkey and thus it should not be listed as a country. ~2025-34029-81 (talk) 15:38, 16 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Population of Dominica

Thanks. The current 2017 estimate is from the Dominican government, the 2021 estimate appears to be from the UN. Probably reasonable to update given the time difference, but I can't replicate the UN citation at the moment as the website has changed. CMD (talk) 10:35, 30 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
