Could a glitch be caused by a complete resurfacing of the surface of the neutron star? It would explain both the glitch and the gradual recovery. Just granpa (talk) 09:09, 15 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well I did the math and I must admit that I'm a little bit surprised at how it works out. The crust would only have to be one centimeter thick to account for the change in angular momentum. That's assuming that during a global resurfacing event that the solid crust is completely replaced with liquid that is 20% less dense. Just granpa (talk) 23:28, 22 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
