Pre-Kripke theological statements of a posteriori necessity
I've been doing some reading on this, and it seems like many of the Christian theologians of old, at least since the Scholastic era, viewed the doctrine of the Trinity as necessary, yet only knowable a posteriori through scripture.
Of course, this occurs under a specifically religious context (whereas Kripke is more generalizable and universally agreeable), but perhaps this and other pre-Kripke attitudes should be mentioned in this article. Mannana308 (talk) 16:30, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
