Sanjeev Kumar Bijli is an Indian entrepreneur, businessman, and the Executive Director of PVR INOX Ltd. Bijli is also the Director of PVR INOX Pictures Limited, the motion picture arm of PVR INOX, which is a leader in the independent film distribution space.[1][2][3]

Bijli is also a member of the Entrepreneurs Organization (EO), an exclusive global network for entrepreneurs.[4]

Early life and education

Bijli was born in Manchester, UK, and raised in New Delhi, India. He completed his schooling from Modern School, New Delhi. He pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting from Salford University, Manchester, and later earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Imperial College, London University.[5][4]

Bijli also received professional training in operations and development at the Village Entertainment Centre, Australia, where he honed his management skills and developed expertise in the cinema exhibition domain.[6][7]

Career

Bijli co-founded PVR Cinemas with the vision of transforming the Indian movie-going experience. Over the years, he has spearheaded programming strategies, strengthened ties with Hollywood studios, and expanded the company’s film distribution business.[8][9][10]

In his role as Director of PVR INOX Pictures Limited, Bijli has positioned the organization as a leader in the independent film distribution industry.[11][12][13]

Bijli is a member of the Entrepreneurs Organization (EO), an exclusive global network for entrepreneurs, where he actively engages in mentoring young business owners and fostering innovation.[4][14]

Awards and recognition

In 2020, Bijli was honored with the Business World Applause Person of the Year award.[15]

Personal life

Bijli is the son of Late Shri KL Kumar and Shukla Devi Kumar. He is younger brother of Ajay Bijli.[16][8]
