Nirjhor (Bengali: নির্ঝর আবাসিক এলাকা, lit. 'Nirjhor Residential Area') is a residential area located in Dhaka Cantonment, Bangladesh.[1][2][3][4]

Area

The area is nearby the Army Central Mosque in Dhaka Cantonment, Nirjhor contains a park, restaurant, lake, bridge and several residential buildings for members and officers of the Bangladesh Army,[3][4] a restaurant known as Tribeni and several other establishments. It borders Vashantek Thana.[5]

History

In April 2015, various establishments including Nirjhor Residential Area and Nisarga Residential Area was inaugurated and planned.[1][5][6]

In 2017, a tree-planting event took place in Nirjhor Residential Area with several Bangladesh army members participating.[7]

In August 2021, the Dhaka Cantonment Ladies Club distributed aid among poor people and the needy, the event took place in Nirjhor Residential Area.[8][9]

In 2022, another tree-planting event which was inaugurated by then Chief of Army Staff, Shafiuddin Ahmed, took place in Nirjhor Residential Area.[2][10]
