Miriam "Yami" V. Merlin[1][2] (born 1975 or 1976[3]) is a Filipino former footballer who played for the Philippines women's national football and futsal teams.
Career
She played with the Philippine national football team of the 1980s which was coached by Orlando Plagata with Buda Bautista and Let Dimzon as her teammates.[4] She was scouted for the national team while participating in the 1993 Philippine National Games in Baguio at age 17.[5]
Merlin played for the Philippine national futsal team of coach Manny Batungbacal which played at the 2005 Asian Indoor Games and finished as bronze medalists of the women's futsal event of the 2007 Southeast Asian Games in Bangkok.[6][7]
Later life
Merlin would be coach of the De La Salle Lipa high school girls' team for at least 20 years where she also taught as a grade 9 physical education instructor.[5]
