Husseyn Zakaria Chakroun (Arabic: حُسَيْن زَكَرِيَّا شَكْرُون; born 10 November 2004) is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for 2. Bundesliga club Hannover 96. Born in Germany, he plays for the Lebanon national team.

Club career

A youth player for Fortuna Sachsenross and Hannoverscher SC,[2] in the summer of 2023 Chakroun moved from the under-19 team of JFV Calenberger Land to Regionalliga (fourth tier) side Hannover 96 II.[3] In his first season, he helped the team to promotion to the 3. Liga.[4] On 19 April 2024, he signed his first professional contract until 2026.[2]

Chakroun was integrated in the Hannover 96 squad, training in the 2. Bundesliga during the 2024–25 season.[4] On 22 February 2025, Chakroun made his 2. Bundesliga debut for Hannover 96, coming on as a 77th-minute substitute in a 1–1 draw to SC Paderborn.[5]

International career

Born and raised in Hanover, Germany to Lebanese parents, Chakroun is eligible to represent both Germany and Lebanon internationally.[4]

Chakroun was first called up to the Lebanon national team on 5 November 2024, for friendly games against Thailand and Myanmar.[6] He made his debut on 14 November, playing as a starter in a 0–0 draw to Thailand.[7]
