Helena Wu (Chinese: 胡婉慧) is a Hongkonger academic in cultural studies, focused on Hong Kong cinema and literature[1] based at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Wu is Canada Research Chair in Hong Kong studies and Convenor of UBC's Hong Kong Studies Initiative.[2][3]

Biography

Wu received her Master of Philosophy (MPhil) desgree from the University of Hong Kong.[4][5] She was awarded her doctorate summa cum laude from the University of Zurich in 2019.[6]
