The original copyright holders, the Straus Broadcasting Group, is defunct and has not been operating as a business entity since 1988, with all rights and ownership of all marketing, intellectual property and other materials released to the Federal Broadcasting Group. The Federal Broadcasting Group, the successor, is also defunct, is not operating as a business entity, is no longer searchable by any database in print or on the web, with all rights and ownership of all related marketing, intellectual property and other materials subsequently released to the public domain. As present owner and author of the image and object, I, David Kusumoto, waive all rights to this image worldwide under copyright law, including all related and neighboring rights, without reciprocating compensation. Any person or user of Wikipedia may copy, modify, and distribute this work, even for commercial purposes, without asking permission.

Permission is released by the following statement by David Kusumoto of El Cajon, California: "This image - via legal actions and completed liquidation proceedings - has been in the public domain since 1988. This image appeared on a promotional record sleeve specific to WMCA-AM in 1963. The original owners - the Straus Broadcasting Group - was dissolved and absorbed by Federal Broadcasting Group. The Federal Broadcasting Group - was ALSO subsequently dissolved, with NO LEGAL successors of intellectual property materials. Non-hardware assets - from BOTH entities - including all intellectual property materials, marketing campaigns and related promotional images linked to WMCA-AM Radio from 1961-1988 - were released to the public domain following liquidation. Hardware assets such as technical equipment and infrastructure were excluded. The only intellectual property exceptions are images from private photographers - (for which this image does NOT apply) - whose estates maintain control of their own work for licensing or reproduction for historical uses." "As owner and author of the image and object, I, David Kusumoto, as I did in 2013 - in 2025 re-state my permission release for universal use in the public domain, waiving all rights to this image worldwide under copyright law, including all related and neighboring rights, without reciprocating compensation, to the extent allowed by law. Any person or user may copy, modify, and distribute this work, even for commercial purposes, without asking permission."
