English: Trenton Jewish Community Center Bath House and Day Camp
on the NRHP since February 23, 1984. Located at 999 Lower Ferry Rd., Ewing Township, Mercer County, New Jersey. Built 1951 as a poolhouse (for kids etc.) going to the swimming pool. Designed by Louis Kahn. This corner puzzles me and I was thinking it was not part of the original design when I took the photo, but now it looks just wonderful (who knows)
This photo is a "hollow column," one of the "servant spaces" Kahn used in the Bath House design. The Bath House is where Kahn experimented with the idea of "served and servant" spaces that you see in his later works, notably- the Salk Institute.
