Given the radii of the large circles are r_left=9 and r_right=36, the radius of the small circle must conform to 1/sqroot(r_middle)=1/sqroot(r_left)+1/sqroot(r_right). In this case, 1/sqroot(4)=1/sqroot(9)+1/sqroot(36), or 1/2=1/3+1/6.
