English: A Japanese hearth (ro) in the Japanese tea ceremony (Urasenke-style). The Hishaku (bamboo ladle) is held in the opening of the Kama, a container for boiling water.
Italiano: La foto è stata scattata nella Chashitsu (stanza del tè) di una famiglia giapponese ad Amelia (Terni). Il servizio viene svolto utilizzando il Ro (apertura quadrata sul pavimento) quindi in forma invernale e secondo lo stile Urasenke. Lo Hishaku (mestolo di bambù) è sul bordo della Kama (bollitore dell'acqua). Come si può vedere dalla presenza di due Chawan (tazze) il servizio è stato multiplo. A fianco della tazza usata si può vedere il coperchio della Kama appoggiato sull'apposito supporto di bambù detto Futaoki. Sul coperchio della Kama si può vedere la Chakin, piccola pezza bianca piegata in modo rigorosamente codificato, che serve alla pulizia rituale della Chawan. Molto si è parlato circa le influenze del rito cattolico sulla Cha no yu ed è stato spesso portato a sostegno della tesi affermativa proprio l'utilizzo della Chakin. Ma la questione non è mai stata chiarita e rimane nel campo delle ipotesi di studio.
