We have here a totally transparent and lustrous, colorless, gem crystal of petalite from the pegmatites of Afghanistan. It is MUCH MORE GEMMY AND BRIGHT in person...so clear it is hard to photo accurately because all the veils are magnified and refracted. The display face is intact, although there is some contact damage to the back of the termination (hence the low price - otherwise it would be triple or more for a large crystal of such quality!). True, the bottom portion, especially in the back, has been etched, but NOT so much as usual and it remains a sharp crystal in stead of an etched-out jumble as so many are, from this region. The crystal is so large and so sharp for the species!
