Summary
| Description |
English: Guldenbergspoortje, Grote Houtstraat, Haarlem. Former gate to the "Carmelietenklooster"; the monastery of the Carmelites that included the Vrouwebroerskerk and once took up the entire block, but was slowly dismantled and reused for city housing after the Protestant Reformation in 1572. Today only the doorway remains.
Nederlands: Guldenbergspoortje
Laatste restant van het voormalige Karmelietenklooster, dat op deze plaats in 1248 werd gesticht en bijna het gehele bouwblok omvatte. Sinds de Reformatie, eind 16de eeuw, gehele kloostercomplex geleidelijk verbouwd tot woningen.
