Summary
This is the grave of Enoch Poor, a Brigadier general during the American Revolutionary War. His final resting place is at the old burial grounds of the First Reformed Church in Hackensack, New Jersey, off of River Street. The Hackensack Courthouse is visible in the background.
The statue/monument erected in his honor can also be seen behind the fence, on the island in the middle of the street.
Please take a moment to read the inscription on the grave marker, which I have transcribed as faithfully as possible, below:
- In Memory of the Hon.ble
- Brigadier Gen.l Enoch Poor

- on the 8 day of Septr. 1780
