Zoe Killington (born 23 February 2006) is an English snooker player. She is a former top-ranked Under-21 player on the World Women's Snooker Tour. She made her tournament debut at the 2018 Eden Women's Masters, aged 12.[1] Her highest ranking is 15th.[1] She has reached the Last 16 stage of 5 World Women's Snooker events.[1]
Career
Zoe Killington began playing snooker at the end of 2017 for fun, until she began to get coaching in March 2018 when she began to take it more seriously.[2]
In 2021, Killington won her first event at the third English Partnership for Snooker and Billiards Women's Snooker Tour Challenge Event of the season. She defeated Jan Hughes 2-0 in the final.[3]
In 2023, Killington was nominated to play for England B at the Women's Snooker World Cup in Bangkok, Thailand alongside Jamie Hunter (snooker player).[4] They reached the quarter finals, losing 4-1 to England A, consisting of professionals Reanne Evans and Rebecca Kenna.[5]
In September 2023, Killington became the top-ranked under-21 women's player. Due to this, she was invited to join the EPSB Junior Elite Performance Programme run by the English Partnership for Snooker and Billiards.[6] She was seeded first for the Under-21 UK Women's Snooker Championship in October that year, but lost in the final (which was reduced to a single-frame match due to time pressures) to Natasha Chethan.[7]
Killington also won the Wirral Young Sport Person of the Year in 2023[8], in recognition of her rise in the women's snooker rankings and tournament wins.[9]
Personal Life
Killington was born in Liverpool, England. She plays snooker alongside her sister, Laura Killington[6] at Sacred Heart Snooker.[10]
