Sadiqua Nawab Saher (born as Saiqua Ara) is an Indian fiction and writer of Urdu language who won Sahitya Akademi Award[1] in 2023 for her novel Rajdev Ki Amrai.[2][3][4][5] She focuses on the Women rights subject.[6][7][8][9]

Early life

Saher was born in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh on 18 April 1957 as Sadiqa Ara into the family of Khwaja Mian Sahib and Sharaf-un-Nissa Begum.[10] She had studied at Imambada School, Bhindi Bazar, Anjuman-e-Islam Tayyabji High School at Belassis Road and Sophia College, later joined Mumbai University for doctoral studies.[11]

Personal life

Saher is married to Muhammad Aslam Nawab and they had two children together Lubna Aslam and Muhammad Nabil.[10]
