Amy Anzel (born April 7, 1973) is an American entrepreneur, actress, theatre producer and television presenter.
Early life
Anzel was born on April 7, 1973, in Yonkers, New York.[1][2] She has a B.A. in music from Columbia University.[3]
Career
Anzel played Mrs Zane in Kick-Ass 2 (2013) and appeared in Nick Cannon Presents: Short Circuitz and Witchwise. Her theatre roles include dancing in the Hudson Opera Theater's tribute to Cole Porter, "Kick Out of Cole", in 1991,[2] playing Marty in the European tour of Grease, Cinderella with Jimmy Osmond, and the US tour of Annie. Anzel got to the semi-finals of the first season of The Bachelor in 2003.
Anzel was the singing voice of Ashley for the song "I Can See Me" in the Jem animated series. In 2009, Anzel relocated to Carlisle, England to perform in a local pantomime production of Aladdin for Christmas.[4] She appeared in the role of the spirit of the ring, alongside radio host Robbie Dee as Widow Twankey and Marcus Collins, X-Factor finalist, as the genie.
As a producer, Anzel has worked on Dreamgirls, the UK tour of Legally Blonde, Moby Dick, and UK premieres of The Life, Sideways and Casa Valentina.[5] She produced Happy Days: The Musical, depicted in the Channel 4 television series The Sound of Musicals.[6][4] The show was crowdfunded, raising £250,000 from 345 investors in six weeks and was the first commercial theatrical production to achieve full funding on Seedrs.[7]
Anzel produced Happy Days: The Musical working with Todd Ruppert of RTR International, Ed’s Easy Diner whom she partnered with to present it, and Henry Winkler as the show's creative consultant. The show was recognized in the Channel 4 television series The Sound of Musicals.[8]
Beauty Brand Owner
Anzel is the founder and chief executive officer of Hollywood Browzer Beauty, a beauty tools brand formed in 2017 selling on QVC shopping channels.[9][10]Anzel is a presenter on the QVC UK channel, and the UK brand ambassador for the No! No! Hair removal system.[11]
The Apprentice
In 2022, Anzel was the oldest competitor on the BBC television series, The Apprentice.[12][13] She was fired in week 6, and then accused the producers of manipulating her toothbrush design on the show.[14][15][11]
