Árpád Kovács (born 12 September 2005) is a Hungarian sprinter.[1]

Career

He is a member of Szeged VSE (SZVSE) athletics club.[2] He won a silver medal at the 2022 European Athletics U18 Championships over 400 metres.[3]

He competed at the 2023 European Athletics Team Championships in Chorzów in June 2023.[4] He competed at the European Athletics U20 Championships in Jerusalem.[5] He was a member of the Hungarian 4 x 400 metres relay team at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest alongside Ernő Steigerwald, Zoltán Wahl, and Atilla Molnar. The team set a new national record time of 3:02.65.[6][7]

He won the 400 metres at the International U20 Match in Brno, Czech Republic in June 2024.[8] He finished fourth at the 2024 World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima, Peru in the 400 metres.[9]

He won a bronze medal in the men's 4 x 400 metres relay at the 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing, in a new national record time of 3:06.03.[10][11][12]
