To report an error in content currently or imminently on the Main Page, use the appropriate section below.
- Where is the error? An exact quotation of the text in question helps.
- Offer a correction if possible.
- References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
- Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 00:24 on 10 March 2025) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
- Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
- Do not use {{edit fully-protected}} on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems because this is not a talk page. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
- No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
- Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
- Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed or determined not to be an error, or the item has been rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

- Blurb on Wealth of Nations isn't wrong per se, but it's a bit of a lie to children that we have them memorize in high school history. It's kind of like how Herodotus often gets called the first historian, but actual historians are more likely to cite von Ranke (father of the historical method). In the same way, economists will typically refuse to name a "first" modern economist because there's a lack of a dividing line, but if forced to pick the most common answers will be William Stanley Jevons and Alfred Marshall who first introduced calculus and mathematical modeling into the field. An alternate, more accurate blurb would be:
1776 – Scottish philosopher Adam Smith publishes his book The Wealth of Nations, the first classical treatise on political economy.

Done thank you for reporting. The update is now on the main page. Secretlondon (talk) 23:42, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- So it currently says:
- 1776 – Scottish political economist Adam Smith's book The Wealth of Nations, the first modern work in economics, was published.
- And you'd like to change it to:
- 1776 – Scottish philosopher Adam Smith publishes his book The Wealth of Nations, the first classical treatise on political economy
Looking at The Wealth of Nations we do say "the first formulation of a comprehensive system of political economy" and we don't claim it is the first modern work in economics. Secretlondon (talk) 23:28, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- Even though there is only 25 minutes left I am going to change it as it might come back next year. Secretlondon (talk) 23:36, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- Kindly change File:Eliot Spitzer.jpg to Eliot Spitzer (higher res).jpg. I've denoised and hunted down a higher resolution version. JayCubby 00:23, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- March 10: Mothering Sunday should be moved to the correct date for this year, and the 2024 events currently at the March 11 OTD should be brought forward to March 10.
Done Removed Mothering Sunday, as 10 March is a Monday. Not done anything else. Secretlondon (talk) 23:35, 9 March 2025 (UTC)

- Can we change 'Today's featured picture' to 'Today's featured media'? It doesn't seem right to label a film as a photograph. JayCubby 01:46, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- Oh, and could someone add the subtitles from OpenSubtitles? https://www.opensubtitles.com/en/subtitles/7692280-detour-1945-1080p-bluray-h264-aac-rarbg?download=1
- It's sadly cascade-protected. JayCubby 01:50, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- It's not labeled as a photograph, it's labeled as a picture. And it is – it's a moving picture. jlwoodwa (talk) 05:37, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Jlwoodwa, that's a fair point, though I can't remember the last time I heard a film be referred to as a picture in modern English. Maybe eighty years ago, which I suppose was when the film was produced. JayCubby 05:53, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah. Or Today's featured file. A editor from mars (talk) 07:39, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
