The Singing Butler is an oil-on-canvas painting made by Scottish artist Jack Vettriano in 1992. It sold to a private bidder at a 2004 auction for £744,500, which was the record at the time for any painting by a Scottish artist, and for any painting ever sold in Scotland.[1]

The focal subject of The Singing Butler is based on an image of actress Orla Brady posing in her own dress which was published in The Illustrator's Figure Reference Manual (1987) as part of a series of photographic figure studies.[2][3]

In 2012, The Singing Butler went on display at the Aberdeen Art Gallery as part of an exhibition entitled From Van Gogh to Vettriano - Hidden Gems from Private Collections.[4][5] The exhibition was well attended.[6]
