LGBTQIA+ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual/Aromantic/Agender. It is more inclusive because it covers more topics than just LGBTQ. The "+" takes into account for every subcatergory which is just as important. It makes much more sense to change it to be more inclusive! Thank you! That's the problem. Eventually the grouping becomes meaningless and all you're left with is what we would categorize as "alternative lifestyles". It just dilutes it. Inclusivity is not in and of itself a virtue. 65.194.76.18 (talk) 01:04, 21 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Why the Italic?
Why LGBTQ is in italic? And if there's a reason for it, shouldn't all pages with LGBTQ on it (example LGBTQ history, LGBTQ community) have LGBTQ in italic? 201.92.11.147 (talk) 19:23, 24 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I feel like this needs a section about what each of the diffrent terms such as Queer. Like just a quick summury of it for each of them. And also I thought the T ws for Therian. Is it? If yes why was therian not mentioned? ThErE mAy Be SpElLiNg MiStAkEs! DUCK.IN.A.LEMONADE.STAND (talk) 17:28, 12 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This article is about the acronym. Readers can learn the definitions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer by following the links in the lead. Readers may also be served by the link to List of LGBTQ acronyms which currently heads the "Variants" section.
Transspecies identities like otherkin and therian are not traditionally considered part of the "LGBTQ+" umbrella, because they are not gender or sexual identities (i.e., one can have such an identity while also being cisgender and heterosexual). The T in LGBTQ has consistently stood for "transgender", as we played a substantial part of the Stonewall riots and gay liberation movement circa 1970s. –RoxySaunders 🏳️⚧️ (talk • stalk) 18:00, 12 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
