Jastrzębie-Zdrój Stadium → Stadion Miejski w Jastrzębiu Zdroju – Seems to be to official name for the stadium. And hits more than "Jastrzębie-Zdrój Stadium". Harcerskiej gościły reprezentacje Polski i Czechosłowacji. Po bramce Krzysztofa Warzychy zwyciężyli biało-czerwoni." link. Paradygmaty (talk) 20:50, 8 March 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose. There does not appear to be any significant coverage of this stadium in English-language reliable sources. In such cases, per WP:UE, we "translate it if this can be done without loss of accuracy and with greater understanding for the English-speaking reader." 162 etc. (talk) 22:04, 8 March 2025 (UTC)
- I also had a similar thesis once, but check the discussion for the article Stadion Miejski (Gdynia). Even @Amakuru cried out in outrage, saying, "Not this again! We don't use made-up names that don't appear in English sources." PS. However, I propose changing it to "Stadion Miejski (Jastrzębie-Zdrój).", Paradygmaty (talk) 13:48, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- "We don't use made-up names that don't appear in English sources" is not an accurate statement. WP:UE is policy, and it is quite clear:
- "In deciding whether and how to translate a foreign name into English, follow English-language usage."
- However, it is possibly that a topic has no coverage in English-language RS. This is apparently the case with this article.
- Therefore:
- " If there is no established English-language treatment for a name, translate it." 162 etc. (talk) 19:21, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- Mhmmm… if it were clear, then Stadion Miejski in Białystok, Gdynia, Kielce, Nisko, Ząbki, or Szczecin would be named XYZ Municipal Stadium, not Stadion Miejski (XXX). I used to think like you, but let’s not make life harder for ourselves. Paradygmaty (talk) 18:51, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- This discussion is about Jastrzębie-Zdrój Stadium. WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. 162 etc. (talk) 20:51, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- Alright, but next to this rule, there is also the rule of common sense. If we do not accept moving Stadion Miejski (Gdynia) or Stadion Miejski (Ząbki) to Gdynia Municipal Stadium or Ząbki Municipal Stadium, then, according to the rule of common sense, we should not stubbornly pretend that those discussions never took place and refuse to accept moving "Jastrzębie-Zdrój Stadium" to "Stadion Miejski (Jastrzębie-Zdrój)." - We can move Jastrzębie-Zdrój Stadium → Stadion Miejski w Jastrzębiu Zdroju if you show evidence that the latter is used in English-language reliable sources - but so far, you have not. 162 etc. (talk) 16:10, 11 March 2025 (UTC)

- Comment Speaking of lack of significant coverage, this article does not appear to meet WP:N and is a likely candidate for WP:AFD. 162 etc. (talk) 22:05, 8 March 2025 (UTC)

- Oppose - no sources provided, and no idea why we would move away from the English-language name... GiantSnowman 18:51, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
