I will be reviewing this article. More to follow.Rain the 1 13:35, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

This is an over-all well sourced and interesting article. I will start with some things that I noticed, they are just small changes so far.

Lead

Early and personal life

  • Darcy Grey was born on 5 June 1991 in London.[1] Grey has an older brother.[2] Grey's parents... - Cut the short sentence and repetitiveness of "Grey" to either "Darcy Grey was born on 5 June 1991 in London.[1] He has an older brother and their parents" or "Darcy Grey was born on 5 June 1991 in London and has an older brother.[1][2] Their parents..."
  • felt like an "outcast" as - No need for the quotation around outcast.
  • When Grey returned to England as a teenager, he started getting into acting whilst studying A-level. - This is a little informal and the source states A-level as a plural - it could be "Grey returned to England as a teenager and began acting whilst studying A-levels."
  • Grey revealed that he continues to practise the Spanish language as his stepfather is Spanish, and he finds it useful when he goes to Spain - I would change this entirely to either "Grey's stepfather is Spanish which prompted him to begin learning the language." or better since the article states he is fluent in Spanish: "His stepfather is Spanish and Grey became is fluent speaker of the language."
  • Grey keeps his personal life private but sometimes shares pictures of his family on social media. - I think the part about him sharing family photos relevant to a BLP and it is not a unique fact. I'd remove that so it is more "Grey keeps his personal life private." or a little more explanatory in relation to the source and join it on to the statement about marriage with "Grey married Christine Lisowski in 2014, when he was 22-years-old but like to keep their personal life private."
  • Grey has said that he loves dogs. - move and merge further down, see below via point 2 in career section.

Career

  • Alongside acting, Grey also sold "fish" dog food, which he called "just such a funny thing" that he was embarrassed by.[1] - The "fish" dog food is not referenced as fish in the source provided but it does state "posh dog food".
  • Grey explained that the company only employed actors as they "know how to talk to people". I accessed the source and personally I would rewrite. I would also incorporate the earlier fact about Grey being a dog lover into this sentence and remove the earlier mention. It could be "Grey explained that he loves dogs and the company only employed actors because they are confident speakers."
  • Emmerdale producer Kate Brooks was "delighted" to welcome Grey to the cast - tighten the prose, "Emmerdale producer Kate Brooks was "delighted" with Grey's casting"

Filmography

  • For his 2017 role in Cedar Sequoia International, please remove the use of "Unknown" and replace with "N/A" - someone knows who he played even if the internet does not. Grey himself and the production crew will now, so it is not unknown.

Further assessment

  • I have reviewed the two images used in the article and both have the correct licenses applied on the relevant file pages.
  • I have online checked the sources - these appear via a variety of third-party sources from reputable online sources and British media sources.
  • I checked the two offline magazine sources and I can confirm that the information cited to them is accurate.
  • The referenced URLs all appear stable as you previously ran the #IABot and ensured they are preserved in the wayback machine for extra stability.
  • Checked claims about personal background information - all checks out.
  • One source is YouTube but it is an official channel and from an ITV television show so that is fine.
  • Categories are all relevant to the subject.
  • Lead section seems concise and relevant information present.
  • No infobox issues
  • Ran earwig bot and I can confirm that copyright violation is unlikely with a low 30.1% similarity.

The six point check:

  • Verifiable with no original research:checkY

Conclusion and comments from nominator

I have completed the review. Once these points are addressed I see no issue with the article being promoted to good article status. Either strike out or add {{done}} to each point.Rain the 1 17:28, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • I will review this DYM nomination since I conducted the GA review and I am now familiar about the subject. I like the second DYK hook, it is cited to [6]. I do not think believe I have seen many BLPs who can speak these three languages. The offline sources are okay, I do not need to AGF since I can access them via my Readly subscription. They all check out okay. Ran earwig bot and I can confirm that copyright violation is unlikely with a low 30.1% similarity. The free-to-use image has the correct license. This is good to go. I also corrected the other DYK hooks to my satisfaction and all three check out to the sources provided, I like DYK hook alt 1 the best though.Rain the 1 00:24, 3 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Raintheone: sorry, but per WP:DYKRR you can't do the DYK review if you also did the good article review. Understandable if you missed this, since it's buried pretty deep in the guidelines. I'll provide a fresh review in a little bit. Tenpop421 (talk) 01:11, 3 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • This article, promoted to GA on 28 Feb, is new enough, long enough, well-sourced, and presentable. No copyvio or BLP issues. I'm with DaniloDaysOfOurLives in preferring ALT0, which is in the body of the article, with a citation which checks out. A little BLP-related caution might be involved in promoting it, as the subject does say he was embarrassed of that fact. If the promoter prefers to avoid it, ALT1 is also in the body and checks out. Good to go. Tenpop421 (talk) 01:33, 3 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
