The 18 new castaways began their adventure.
Lagi won the challenge. Kyle from Civa and Kevin from Vula were selected to compete for their tribes' supplies.
At Civa, David and Mitch discovered various animal symbols around the camp, along with coils of black twine concealing a series of numbers; the whole tribe worked together to decipher their meaning. Charity expressed her distrust of Kyle towards Kamilla, who then shared this information with other tribe members, painting the former as a target, with Chrissy and Kyle commenting that Charity had not attempted to have individual conversations with them. At Lagi, the pairs of Bianca and Thomas, and Eva and Joe emerged; the men also bonded about living in California. Star searched for an immunity idol alone, arousing suspicion and making her an immediate target. At Vula, Saiounia attempted to search for allies, but was frustrated with Mary and Stephanie's reluctance to engage in strategic conversation, ultimately forming an alliance with Cedrek, Justin, and Kevin. She later discovered a Beware Advantage while searching with Justin, and with the help of her alliance, cracked the cypher and earned herself an Immunity Idol. Meanwhile, Kevin celebrated his good position within the tribe, having been included in a majority alliance, and also bonding well with Mary, despite arriving at camp late.
Lagi and Civa won the challenge. Stephanie took responsibility for Vula's loss at the puzzle section, and was immediately targeted by Saiounia and her alliance. Mary and Stephanie targeted Saiounia, perceiving her as playing too hard, and attempted to recruit Kevin and Justin to join them. The men noted that Saiounia held a lot of power and that her departure would not be overly detrimental to their games. At Tribal Council, Saiounia and Stephanie disagreed regarding their differing approaches towards the game. Stephanie ultimately played her Shot in the Dark, which was unsuccessful. Mary voted against Saiounia, but the majority alliance stuck together and voted against Stephanie, and she became the first person voted out.

Tension was apparent in Vula between Mary and Saiounia following Stephanie's departure. Still wary of Saiounia and her idol, Kevin expressed to Cedrek and Justin his desire to eliminate her next. Star, feeling on the outs of Lagi, searched for and found the Beware Advantage cipher, which contained a puzzle to solve in order to obtain the cipher's code. Unable to solve it on her own, and in an attempt to initiate strategic conversation and gain allies, she shared this information with the whole tribe except Eva, intending to target her, although Joe discreetly kept her in the loop. Shauhin attempted to solve the cipher puzzle for Star, but debated on how much effort he should put in, wary of her potentially obtaining an advantage. Thomas suggested disposing of the puzzle entirely, which Shauhin disagreed to, becoming cautious of how hard he was playing the game.
Back at camp, Mary confessed to her tribe that she lost her vote, but Saiounia was skeptical. Thomas lied to his Lagi tribemates that he had opted not to participate in the puzzle for fear of losing his vote. At Civa, Mitch publicly revealed his advantage to the tribe, and later further bonded with Charity over it. Concerned about the pair of Mitch and Charity possessing an advantage, the remaining alliance of four split up to search for the Beware Advantage, which Kyle found, and Kamilla helped decode, earning him an idol.
Civa and Lagi won the challenge by a huge margin, with Cedrek and Kevin unable to get past the balance beam for Vula. Cedrek accepted responsibility for the loss back at camp to an emotional Vula, stating that he would understand if the tribe decided to vote him off. Saiounia rallied against Mary, who appeared completely out of options, being unable to vote or play her Shot in the Dark. Kevin continued to secretly target Saiounia, hoping to eliminate her along with her idol with the men's votes. However, feeling a familial bond with Saiounia, Cedrek exposed Kevin's plan to her, and implored her to play her idol. Cedrek and Justin considered voting against Kevin for his strong gameplay, but feared putting the tribe at risk of continued challenge losses in the future by eliminating their biggest physical asset. At Tribal Council, Saiounia opted to play her idol, negating Kevin's vote against her. The rest of the tribe, bar a voteless Mary, voted together to send a stunned Kevin out of the game.
