Ramesh Chandra Panda, also commonly known by his alias Ramesh Panda, (IPA: [ରମେଶ ଚନ୍ଦ୍ର ପଣ୍ଡା] ⓘ;24 November 1935 – 18 December 2003) was an Indian politician, musical artist and Member of the Legislative Assembly from Mayurjhalia, Borabarjhar, Ranpur, in Nayagarh district in the Indian state of Odisha. He is a member of the Indian National Congress. He had been a member of the Communist Party of India. He served as a member of the Odisha Legislative Assembly for three terms and was elected to the 5th, 6th and 7th Odisha Legislative Assembly from Ranpur Assembly constituency in the 1971, 1974 and 1977 Odisha Legislative Assembly elections respectively.[2][3][4]
Early life and education
Panda, was born on 24 November 1935, in Mayurjhalia, Raj-Ranpur, Nayagarh, Odisha,[2] to Madan Sundar Panda and his wife Krishna Kumari Panda.[2] He studied law.[2] His son Sabyasachi Panda is also a politician.[5] His daughter in law Subhashree Panda, also known as Mili Panda, is also a politician and well-known for being the spouse of Sabyasachi Panda.[6]
Death
Panda died aged 68, on 18 December 2003 in Mayurjhalia, Ranapur, Nayagarh, Odisha.[2]
