Description
Norsk nynorsk: Våpen for Fredrikstad kommune i Østfold fylke, godkjent ved kongeleg resolusjon 21. april 1967.
Motiv: På rød bunn en oppreist gull bjørn foran en gull borg.[1] Kommunevåpenet til Fredrikstad vart laga til 400-årsjubileet til byen i 1967, og det er ei vidareføring av eit segl som vart nytta ved hyllinga av sonen til Kristian IV i 1610. Seglet har tre tårn bak ein mur med skyteskår. Ein bjørn står på bakbeina, framfor ein port, på ei bru over ei vollgrav. Sidan Fredrikstad ikkje hadde festningsverk i 1610 er det uklart kvar festninga er henta frå.
