Khitry — is an island of the Severnaya Zemlya archipelago. Administratively, it belongs to the Taymyrsky Dolgano-Nenetsky District of Krasnoyarsk Krai.
Location
"It is situated in the central part of the archipelago, 8.5 kilometers (5.3 mi) from the southern coast of October Revolution Island, where the Universitetsky Glacier meets the sea. To the northwest of Khitry lie other small islands of the archipelago — Sverdlova, Nezametny, and Khlebny — while Korga Island is located slightly less than 4 kilometers (2.5 mi) to the south.
Description
The island has an uneven, elongated, and curved shape stretching west to east, with a length of approximately 800 meters (2,625 feet) and a width varying between 50 and 200 meters (164–656 feet). It is ice-free and lacks significant elevations. The sea depth near Khitry’s shores increases sharply, reaching 100 meters (328 feet) within just one kilometer (0.62 miles) of the island.
