RfA

Hey! Are you interested in running for RfA? Your ORCP a while back got very positive responses, so I think you'd have an easy time. I'd be happy to nominate you, and I'm sure a lot of others would as well :) —Ingenuity (t • c) 00:01, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can you like not revert my edits with no probable cause as to you reverting them. I assumed the reason you reverted my edit on the page for Miami-Dade County because of the edit summary and the fact that I forgot to add a source but I didnt think I needed to source it because as you can tell from the map in the infobox it's obvious that it's in the southern half of Florida, but I added it anyway so that you dont revert it back. The info was already there. The source doesnt need to be on the page itself. MidAtlanticBaby (talk) 09:28, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your bizarre edit summary is indeed what drew my attention. Such humor tends to not translate well over screen. Curbon7 (talk) 09:34, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Curbon7,

I just noticed that this draft is due to be deleted as a stale draft and you are unlikely to receive a notification so here is one. Thanks. Liz Read! Talk! 02:29, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the notification. This project was initially put on the backburner as the main source had been removed from JSTOR, but it seems to be back so I'll move these to the front of my queue. Curbon7 (talk) 03:01, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

AFCH

Hello, can you submit a draft then reviewing it yourself? That's a little bit strange. -Lemonaka 03:38, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm discussing Jacob A. Eaton -Lemonaka 03:39, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes this is allowed; the AFC process is an entirely optional one. Curbon7 (talk) 05:22, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I knew AFC process is an entirely optional one, what about directly move it to (main) namespace? Anyway, it's a bit of against common sense that you can reviewed a draft submitted by yourself. -Lemonaka 06:16, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I was going to move it to mainspace anyways, as it is a notable and sufficient draft. It is more convenient to move an AFC draft using AFCH, as this automatically cleans up the draft and notifies the creator. This saves at least a few minutes from using the normal page move tool. If you disagree, you are welcome to discuss at WT:AFC or other processes; I always welcome review. Curbon7 (talk) 20:55, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Drive-by tagging

Re: your recent (subsequently deleted) contribution to COIN...

I do take your general point, however my feeling was that when I originally tagged the article on 22/8 it was not "drive-by" as I had linked to the ongoing discussion at COIN in my edit summary (albeit that the link didn't actually work as I had intended).

However, if I had done something incorrect (as may well have been the case) I'd be grateful if you could clarify for me, as I do try to abide by the relevant policies and guidelines.

Many thanks, Axad12 (talk) 09:52, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the word drive-by prior to just reverting the entire comment, as I felt it was indeed poor word choice for that particular situation. My point was that when two stalwart sides are deadlocked like that, it is much more constructive to break that deadlock (in this case through AfD) than to continue it. Curbon7 (talk) 19:53, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I agree. The whole thing seems to have been complete storm in a teacup. However, at least there is now an AfD where users can disagree over the (at best) borderline claim to notability, rather than a silly ongoing disagreement on the rights or wrongs of the tagging.

Request for Review and Assistance on Draft:Charles Odii (DG SMEDAN)

Dear Curbon7, I hope you’re doing well. I have recently submitted Draft:Charles Odii (DG SMEDAN) for review and would appreciate your assistance in reviewing and improving it. Charles Odii currently serves as the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Small Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in October 2023. If you have time, I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or edits to ensure the article meets Wikipedia’s standards. If you think removing the bracketed “DG SMEDAN” from the title would be more appropriate, please feel free to do so. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Charles_Odii_(DG_SMEDAN) Thank you for your time and expertise.
