In her career she lost several races from Sonja Henie.[4] Both studied together with Martin Stixrud in Oslo and were part of the Oslo Skøiteklub, skating the same tournaments.

Later Andersen turned professional.[4][2]

Andersen used interpretive ballet technique with speed speed skating. Her jinks were known for the combination of grace with speed.[4]
