Notable?

The article contains no information about why Mr. Tobias was important. Just being interviewed on TV about financial topics is hardly worth mentioning. Nor is being the victim of a possible murder that important that it should be the topic of a WP article. Northwestgnome (talk) 18:25, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

More Details

Seth is mentioned in Tiger_(pornographic_actor) as being involved in a relationship with Tiger. (Ref: ^ a b Andrew Ross Sorkin, "A Lurid Aftermath to a Hedge Fund Manager’s Life," New York Times, December 4, 2007.). This should probably also be in this article about Seth. 15:27, 2 Feb 2011 (PST) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.168.250.62 (talk)

change the death section from this -

Tobias died on September 4, 2007, by drowning in his pool. Shortly after his death, his brothers filed a civil lawsuit against his widow, alleging that she drugged and intentionally drowned him. She denied the allegations, and the lawsuit was ultimately settled out of court with the brothers retracting all claims.

To this -

Tobias died on September 4, 2007, by drowning in his pool. Shortly after his death, his brothers filed a civil lawsuit against his wife, alleging that she drugged and intentionally drowned him. The lawsuit claimed that she gave him a sedative before submerging his body in the pool. She denied the allegations, and the lawsuit was ultimately settled out of court with no formal admission of liability.

___ I request this change because the original wording implies that settling the lawsuit meant the claims were retracted, which isn’t necessarily true in civil litigation. In fact, settling a case does not automatically entail a formal retraction of the allegations. More specifically, below I attached a video where the lawyer for Tobias’s wife was asked specifically whether the family had retracted their claims, and he made it clear that they had not.

Not done: Source explicitly states condition of settlement is retraction of allegations, editor was blocked for socking on article — Preceding unsigned comment added by VolatileAnomaly (talk • contribs) 01:53, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I had added "retracted" based on [1], but looking at [2], published by the same publication a day later, that may be in dispute, so I've switched to "dropping their claims". -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|🤷) 04:13, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
