Ishola Abdul Rasaq Adedoyin (born 30 April 1993), professionally known as Donny Crown, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and music executive. He rose to prominence with the release of the song "Money for Hand" featuring the late Nigerian singer and rapper Mohbad.[1][2]
Early life and education
Donny Crown hails from Lagelu local government area local government area in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Donny Crown attended Fountain International High School where he completed his secondary school education and later gained admission to study at the prestigious Adekunle Ajasin University where he graduated with a degree in Applied Mathematics.[3]
Career
Donny Crown started his musical career in 2012, releasing freestyles and demos.
In 2022, Donny Crown released the single "feeling good" with "M.E.D.E”.[4]
In 2023, he launched M.E.D.E,[5] a creative agency catering to groom emerging acts[6]
In September 2023, Donny Crown released the song "Money for Hand" featuring Mohbad,[1] the single gained over 1 million+ streams on Spotify, which landed a spot on Spotify’s Top 50 chart in Nigeria.[7]
The song was posthumously released a few weeks before Mohbad's tragic passing in September 2023, he further donated the royalties from the streams to MohBad's son as a demonstration of act of kindness.[8]
On January 2024, he released a follow-up single afterwards titled "Grace" featuring Nigerian singer and songwriter BadboyTimz.[9]
In 2024, the Cyprus based Nigerian singer started his radio tour at Bush Radio and Radio Eersteriver in Cape Town, South Africa. [7]
