Use of Ashanti over Ghana

Multiple references were added to Ashanti instead of Ghana. This seems to be part of an effort to promote the (non-existing) independence of Ashanti from Ghana.Icewhiz (talk) 06:58, 22 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Diamonds

The article seems to indicate that there was only very small scale diamond mining until recently. I don't think that is quite true. I don't know much about it, but I know that my grandfather, a diamond merchant, went to Ghana in 1954, shortly before independence, to serve as the "technical manager" of the Gold Coast African Diamond Company in Accra. As I understand it, he was hired as part of an effort to (re)organize the diamond industry.Bill (talk) 22:56, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
