Extension of Ninus' mythical empire (around 2100 BC?) superimposed on modern-day boundaries, as described by Diodoros (100 BC, 2000 years after the fact). An empire of the 2nd millenium reaching not only beyond the Zagros mountains but even into the Indian subcontinent, and ruled from Ninive, Assyria, does not match with historical realities.
