Denton is a city in Jeff Davis County, Georgia, United States. The population was 189 in 2020.

History

The Georgia General Assembly incorporated the place in 1911 as the "Town of Denton".[4] The community most likely was named after Samuel Denton, an early settler.[5]

Geography

Denton is located at 31°43′22″N 82°41′47″W / 31.72278°N 82.69639°W / 31.72278; -82.69639 (31.722663, -82.696323).[6]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.5 square miles (3.9 km2), all land.
