Beitima or Baytima (Arabic: بيتيما) is a Syrian village in the Qatana District of the Rif Dimashq Governorate. According to the Syria Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Beitima had a population of 3,366 in the 2004 census.[1]
History
In 1838, Eli Smith noted Beitima's population as Sunni Muslim.[2] During the Syrian Civil War, the village was the site of several prominent clashes between pro and anti-regime forces. It was described as being a predominantly Druze village by this point.[3][4][5]
