Ammonium mandelate is a chemical compound with the chemical formula C8H11NO3.This is an organic ammonium salt of mandelic acid.[2][3]
Synthesis
The compound can be prepared by reacting mandelic acid and ammonia[4] or excess of strong ammonia water.
Physical properties
The compound forms odorless crystalline colorless powder. Very soluble in water, sparingly soluble in alcohol.
Uses
The compound is used as a urinary antiseptic.[5][6][7]
