Mujaheddin

Hello i noticed that you eliminated my modification on the page mujaheddin that says that mujaheddin were NATO allies, they were allies due to intervention of mujaheddin in the gulf war against Saddam Hussein Boackandwhite (talk) 13:08, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Boackandwhite, thank you for reaching out. Please provide a reliable source for verification. Regards,TheTimesAreAChanging (talk) 03:49, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Since your source does not directly state that NATO is an ally of the mujahideen, your edit failed verification and has been reverted. If you disagree, then please provide a page number and quote of the relevant excerpt that verifies the claim. Thank you.TheTimesAreAChanging (talk) 08:46, 22 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"I don't believe that there is a single mention of DVDs in the article body"

Hey there - with all due respect, I think you should maybe take a second look at the article's introduction. It says clear as day: "Sega used the GD-ROM media format to avoid the expenses of DVD-ROM technology". That decision to use DVD-ROM technology is a pretty considerable part of what made the Dreamcast tank in comparison to the PlayStation 2. Would you rather have had me say "the lack of support for DVD-ROM technology"? RMLF (talk) 05:16, 24 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

RMLF, I was referring to the article body, not the lead summary, so this example from the latter is irrelevant.
Regardless, the article body does state: "Sega selected the GD-ROM media format.[37] Jointly developed by Sega and Yamaha, the GD-ROM could be mass-produced at a similar price to a normal CD-ROM,[31] avoiding the greater expense of newer DVD-ROM technology." Therefore, I stand corrected that there is not a single mention of DVD-ROM technology in the article body, but it remains true that there is not a single mention of DVD-ROM technology as a cause of the Dreamcast's failure in the body. (See Dreamcast#Reception and legacy for a discussion of that topic.) If anything, support for DVD playback might have been a reason for the PlayStation 2's early success, rather than a reason for the Dreamcast's failure...
If you wish to build support for this addition, then you should start by adding sourced content to the article body, prior to expanding the lead summary to reflect this new content. Additionally, if more discussion is required, it might be better suited for Talk:Dreamcast, where the thread would be visible to many more users.
