Non-consecutive constituencies in Infoboxes

Example 1 (original)
ConstituencyKyushu PR (2005–2009, 2012–2017)
Saga 2nd (2009–2012; 2017–2026)
Example 2 (my edit)
ConstituencyKyushu PR (2005–2009)
Saga 2nd (2009–2012)
Kyushu PR (2012–2017)
Saga 2nd (2017–2026)

Hi Jeffrey34555, I noticed that you reverted my edit for Hiroshi Ogushi and Kazuhiro Haraguchi in regards to the list of constituencies in the infobox. In the article for Hiroshi Ogushi, the version that you reverted to (example 1) has the non-consecutive terms grouped together by constituency, whereas my recent edit (example 2) has them sorted by chronological order regardless if they previously were a member of that constituency.

From a readability perceptive, I think that example 2 seems to be easier to understand and it usually takes up a similar amount of space in the infobox although in my edit for Kazuhiro Haraguchi it did increase the amount of lines (which I guess could be fixed by adding a drop-down menu). I don't know if there is a consensus on how to list non-consecutive constituencies served in infoboxes but because it seems to be common for Japanese politicians to switch between the regular and PR constituencies (due to the Japanese electoral system) I would like to get your thoughts on which one would be better. Hey there, thanks for the message. I guess you're right about it being easier to read, but I do draw a line at articles such as Akihisa Nagashima's, who went back-and-forth between Tokyo 21st and Tokyo PR 6 times! At that point, it just clutters up the space, so that is my position. Jeffrey34555 (talk) 01:12, 25 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Update your Move+ script

Re: Special:Diff/1340833163. the version that you are using is possibly outdated, but certainly unmaintained. The script puts a different page title to move from, I think primarily because the move discussion is on another talk page. I chalk this up as an edge case. Please use @TarnishedPath's version instead: User:TarnishedPath/MovePlus. I am not sure if this same issue has been fixed in this version though. – robertsky (talk) 02:32, 28 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the notification, I've updated it. Jeffrey34555 (talk) 02:34, 28 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Robertsky, that issue, where the script expects the page the discussion is happening on to be the first page listed in the RM, is still a known issue with my version. See User:TarnishedPath/MovePlus#Known issues. Though, with the help of others I have fixed a bunch of other issues. TarnishedPathtalk 02:46, 28 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Robertsky and @Jeffrey34555, next time you see a RM which has been started on a page which is not part of the list of pages to be moved (generally they are on Wikiproject pages) and it appears that there is consensus for a move, can you let me know. Hello, Jeffrey34555,

I saw this discussion was closed approximately 18 hours before the full 7-day mark, the length that RMs normally remain open. I wanted to ask if you had a particular reason for this early closure, such as WP:SNOW or any other scenario listed at WP:RMEC.

A similar issue was mentioned before through this comment by Adumbrativus, which I thought would be worth looking at as well. 1isall (talk | contribs) 14:11, 28 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hey 1isall, given that the 7-day mark was almost up, and that no objections had been made to it (3 supports), I felt comfortable moving it a little earlier than usual (so WP:SNOW) Jeffrey34555 (talk) 16:21, 28 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your explanation. I suppose that there is no required number of !votes to constitute a SNOW close. 1isall (talk | contribs) 16:34, 28 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I've also chosen to link Jack Johnson (musician) within the hatnote. Thoughts? 1isall (talk | contribs) 16:36, 28 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I'm fine with it. Jeffrey34555 (talk) 16:36, 28 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Great! Everything's good now. 👍 1isall (talk | contribs) 16:39, 28 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
