Thank you for your Gross edit!
Hey DanTD, I just wanted to to reach out and say thanks for the Gross edit (bad pun intended 😁) If you look at the article history, I just converted it from a redirect, and was quite excited to find it has a decently interesting history in transportation, which is an area of the project I've never dabbled into before now. I appreciate you spending a minute of the time to clarify/add a bit more information to the new page. It doesn't go unnoticed, cheers! Johnson524 22:07, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
- You're welcome. Admittedly, what I've got isn't much, but I've tried. Driving through the area a lot has given me somewhat of an interest in the community. I'll try to track down as much Gross stuff as I can (yeah, the bad puns are hard to avoid in this case). ---------User:DanTD (talk) 22:22, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
- That's great 😂 I was just on a road trip from my home in NC, and only stopped in the community for a short, first, time to get a Geocache. The one thing I'm most disappointed about is that I haven't found anything online explaining how the community got such an unfortunate name. Hopefully some deeper searching will dig something up though. Cheers! Johnson524 22:32, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Janice Vidal - Morning.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Janice Vidal - Morning.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:24, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
- For the record, this image was originally posted by Jinzhi132 for an article on the Janice Vidal album "Morning," but the image was under the generic name "Morning.jpg," or something to that effect. I simply tried to split off a file with multiple images by giving each version new names. But I see that somebody here tried to merge the album to the artist. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 04:31, 25 April 2024 (UTC)

dab issues in FL interstate template
Hi @DanTD! I came across your note on Interstate 275 (Florida) about the dab link and figured I'd send you a message here, since I know it took me a fair bit of time to figure those things out. Invitation to participate in a research
Hello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
WMF Research Team

Bartram Avenue station
Hi @DanTD,
I'm reviewing random articles with no sources, and Bartram Avenue station popped up. While most of the articles I've reviewed so far were created by editors that haven't edited in years, you are obviously an exception to that.
Based on my review, I'm not sure it's notable. What are your thoughts?
Thanks! Delectopierre (talk) 04:54, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- I've been less willing to work on a lot of these articles since the bureaucrats at WP:Trains have enforced certain naming conventions on them. Some of the articles I've worked on have already been redirected, but before the enforced naming conventions I tried finding unique features to many of these station articles, even the trolley stops. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 18:47, 24 February 2025 (UTC)

The article Bartram Avenue station has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Not notable
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Delectopierre (talk) 05:17, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- I made a couple of fixes to the article, partially because the geography makes it notable. If anything I'd rather redirect the article to Media-Sharon Hill Line. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 12:16, 26 February 2025 (UTC)

The article Bartram Avenue station has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Not notable, no RS.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Delectopierre (talk) 22:07, 6 March 2025 (UTC)

Hi! I hope you don't mind this question about a very old edit. I'm trying to find sources - bad or good - that can tell me anything about this station - which I _think_ you were referring to here: [1] .. Do you remember what it was that caused you to add that text? There's very little evidence about this station existing - which makes sense if it only existed a few years and was replaced by Haberman station. Do you have any insight? Thanks! Tduk (talk) 15:47, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
- Drastic changes to the landscape, including the creation of the Phelps-Dodge plant eliminated any evidence of the existence of the station, and many street names were changed during the 20th Century. Also, the junction with the Flushing and North Side Railroad was nearby. I thought the maps and other references provided enough evidence. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 16:40, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
- Which maps do you mean, the one currently on the page itself? I'd really like to improve the article but there isn't much information about it since it was such a short-lived station. Tduk (talk) 16:44, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
- As an aside I have (with others) managed to clean up a few of the Lower Montauk stations (many of which had incorrect station location information), but for this one it's been more difficult. Maybe there just isn't much information out there. Tduk (talk) 16:45, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
- There's the one in the infobox, and the blueprints showing the junction between the Flushing and North Side Railroad and the South Side Railroad of Long Island. That should be your evidence of the existence of the station. Also, since F&NS, and SSRLI were merged into the LIRR by the time the station was built, only the LIRR could have built it. -------User:DanTD (talk) 17:10, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
Confusing names of categories
I've been cleaning up categories for image requests. I noticed that in this category there were many subcategories with names of train station systems that are not obvious. Like LIRR stations, CTA stations and PATH stations. When I investigated it looked like you had created some of these categories so I thought I'd come to you for suggestions on how to improve the names. Perhaps it's possible to change the category names into countries or states, like Wikipedia requested images of train stations in Switzerland. This would make it more easier for a layperson to understand the categories and contribute images. Steinninn 03:09, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- No, I don't do that. Too many railroad stations have the same names, or similar names. I go by railroads and systems and such. The WP:Stations naming convention used to give editors leniency so we can do that, until they banned such practices. I refused to change, and I got in some heated arguments over this. The previous method actually alleviates more of the confusion. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 03:21, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
